Moscow Cadet Music Corps
The Moscow Cadet Music Corps came into being in 2004, and it is a specialized educational institution which combines compulsory education with musical education. Numerous road tours are the essential part of our school life.
The Brass Band of Moscow Cadet Music Corps is a traditional wind band, an analogue of the Russian military bands. The repertoire of the band contains Russian, Austria-German, Scottish military music, productions of classical music by composers of various epochs and genres, Russian folk music, jazz pieces. The programs of the band’s performance include defile (platz-concert) and plays to be performed in a stage concert. In the course of the concerts the band present its best musicians, entrusting to them solo performances – productions for flute-piccolo, trumpet, trombone and percussion instruments. While staging music numbers of the concert elements of theatralisation and chorus singing are used. Dmitry Barsukov, band leader, and his team do their best in looking for the optimal version of the program corresponding in its emotions and contents to the potential of the musicians and requirements of the musical taste of the audience. The band members performances are characterized by artistism, incomparable energy winning over by sincerity and full selfsacrifice of the young musicians. Russia has unique musical traditions, that is why each band’s performance bears much greater cultural and informational loading than just a show. Moscow musicians willingly present Russian music culture and are ever prepared for an open dialogue with the public and musicians of other countries of the world.
In the last years the Moscow Cadet Music Corps has performed in Japan, China, Italy, France and annually it performs in Bulgaria on the behalf of the Moscow Government.
