The Musical Association “Amici della Musica” – Nicolosi began with a group of friends who love the seven notes in Nicolosi, a town called the “Door to Etna”, a town with a tradition of great music. The aim of the association was to diffuse and promote music in all its forms to the new generations.The Association was formed in November of 2010; “Amici della Musica” is a group of young people, a group which has already become a part of the local scene and has participated in exhibitions and concerts during important civil and religious events in the area around Mt. Etna. The group performed during the last leg of the “Giro d’Italia” and during the 150th Anniversary celebrations of the Unity of Italy. In 2012 the band played at the event “From Etna to the Gran Sasso” in Città S. Angelo(Pescara) and was acclaimed with great success by the public. The band is directed by Maestro Carmelo Vinci, graduate of Liceo “A. Corelli” and head of the school of music which the Association initiated three years ago.
