Majorettes CompatrumThe “Majorettes” first began in the town of Montecompatri, a flourishing city on the outskirts of Rome during the seventies as tambourine players in the musical Folklore Band of the city. During the eighties, guided by Ms. Vittoria Mastrofini, the Majorettes perfecting their performance with dedication and commitment. They obtained good results and the possibility to exhibit with the city band in many events, both national and international.

During the nineties the city band encountered difficulty because of the unexpected and painful loss of two presidents. The Majorettes helped pull the band together and kept up a discreet level of activity.

In 1998, the professional instructor, Monica Rizzi, took over the leadership of the group. As their artistic abilities developed she introduced them to the fascinating world of musical bands and majorettes through the A.N.B.I.M.A., the National Association of Autonomous Musical Bands of which Ms. Rizzi is an artistic consultant. The executive style of their instructor is always in perfect harmony with the most classic band music and never succumbs to the temptation to integrate foreign influences into the traditional style.

The passion, dedication and commitment of the Majorettes together with the professionalism of their instructor has earned them their first important result: third place in the National Band and Folk tournament, “Dama Music Show” in Rimini.

Since then the Majorettes Compatrum have had the opportunity to march with great bands such as the Brass Band “Città dei Mille” from Bergamo, Banda Musicale Maicesina(Verona), Gruppo Folkloristico “La Frustica” from Faiera(Viterbo), Banda Musicale di Gavignano Sabino(Rimini), Banda Musicale di Feino(Perugia), Banda Musicale di Lama and many other local musical bands participating in all the most important national events.
