Etnik 97 Musical Group - Antilles (Caribbean Islands)

Association ETNIK 97 was founded in 2001 by a group of friends, after a drama experience commemorating the abolition of slavery.
At the beginning, it was just a small carnival band, which grew up little by little. Its participations in many contests made the group always more important and around 2006 the musical revolution began and it didn’t stop anymore. This rush is mostly due to the «ETNIK » spirit, comradely and familiar, which has been able to preserve its force along the years, and also to animate members of all ages.
ETNIK 97 was able to innovate constantly, both in the musical repertoire than for the costumes, which regularly evoluate along the years. Unique in its genre, this group melts song, dance, traditional and contemporary music.
Today, the group is composed by 70-90 members, and artistica direction is assured by Mrs Marie-Catherine FARDIN VANITOU.
ETNIK 97 has specialized for 2 years in choreographic and musical shows, based on latin and caribbean musics, and with rich and dynamic movements inspired by Caribbean traditional dances.
