The Philarmonic Association Lama (Italy)
"The Philarmonic Association Lama" is a clear example of the band evolution happened in the last decades due to its musicians' zeal, large musical exchanges and twinships made with other Italian groups, but most of all, with groups coming from the North-Eastern Europe that have a different musica-band culture which is more important than the Italian one.
It was founded again by the end of the Seventies by all the citizen of Lama due the incentive of some expert musicians and it was called "The Middle Age" (it takes its origin in one of the first marches of the repertory) and it was created a large group of majorettes, too. from that moment its success has been growing on a national, inernational and local level.
Since September 2008 Giovanni Comanducci has been leading the band as the Maestro.
Besides the musical band, the Philarmonic Association Lama is very proud of its group of majorettes divided into two halves: "the old one" and "the young ones".
The older are women who are 15 to 30 years old and suggest a repertory of coreographies consisting of classical marches for parade, ethnic dances and sound-tracks.
The dancing group colors its exxhibitions by chanching their clothes and using accessories typical of majorettes as: pom-pon, sticks, ribbons, etc.
The other part of the group is composed of cadet majorettes who are still attending primary school, and they suggest more playful musical pieces by using sometimes accessories more consonant with their age as: umbrellas, caps, etc.
The Lama Bands and its majorettes have been earning approval and success of the audience tanks to musica and coreographic variety of their repertory shown in every exhibition they perform.
Their success is due to the choreographers Silvia del Bene and sabriba Marinucci, helped by Sabrina Giorgieschi, who have been able to create a close and successful group with their experience and patience.
Nowdays, the Philarmonic Lama is very dynamic with an intense and lively activity which consists of concerts, parades, country feasts, carnivals as well as social demostrations.
By this time it's usual to travel (when money is enough!) and these musical-cultural exchanges with other cultures are a remarkable stimulus for a humane and artistic growth.
This is one of the reasons that encourages many young musicians and majorettes to join the group increasing its success.
